Making Your House Dog-Friendly
You should make your floor to suit the dog. You find that dogs always prefer hard floors which they can sleep on during warm weather to keep them fresh . Not only that but you can also use hardwood floors. It is necessary that you don’t spread hair or carpet for them on the floor as this may contain some insects or bacteria that may harm them . Alternatively you can trim the nails of your dog to prevent it from destroying your floor. You can know that their nails are long by the sound they are producing while moving around.
Another thing that you should do is to watch out for household poisons and electric cables. You should make sure that the chemicals or other toxic substances that can harm dogs are kept in a safe place where the canine cannot reach. There are also some household plants that are poisonous of which should be removed outside the house. As everybody knows that electricity is a very dangerous thing to everyone including the dogs. All the lose cables should be fixed and put in the right place. You should also ensure that the cables are insulated to prevent the dogs from shock when they step on them.
Another thing that you should do is to avoid white or bright things. Such items can easily be ruined very easily as dogs can easily see and scratch them. It is therefore important that when you are stocking your furniture make sure you go for the ones with dull colors as this will prevent the dogs from scratching them. Besides, you should put strong things in your house to prevent them from being broken by dogs.
Apart from that you should set an area specifically for dogs. This area should be a dog-friendly area where you put the dog things for playing like toys, their bed, mat and many other things. You should also consider building them a kennel to make them have their space. Not only that but you can also build them a kennel.
You should keep the kitchen cabinet doors locked so that they cannot eat your food. Make sure you dispose the kitchen wastes correctly especially the bones which dogs can break into pieces, and they can hurt someone. Keep only the things that are not interesting the dog to prevent them from spreading the litter.
Another thing that you should do is to clear the table after each and every meal. For one dog will reach out for anything that they can eat. In the process they can end up breaking the plates or the glasses that were set on the table.
