The parrotlet is a big personality in the parrot body. They are small creature with a small size measuring around five to six inches. Parrotlets will weigh on averagely 28 grams when they are hatched. Thes birds are kept in the homes by many people. People are making sure that they get the chance to own a parrot. Many people like them because of their friendly nature and also the fact that one can train the parrot on various issues. Parrots are very sensitive birds that notice everything going on in the compound. However people ask themselves so many questions about this bird and more often have some misconceptions about them.

A compound with a parrot looks extra beautiful. The colors of a parrot are different depending on the species. The difference in color is brought about by the difference in the species. Although some types are rare to find and expensive some of the different types are readily available. The most available colors are blue color are what most people call pacific. Other colors include the Green rump, the yellow face and the blue wing. It is very hard to find the species that are yellow in color in many parts of the world.

Appetite for food helps the birds in maintaining their antique and playful nature. Parrots like cracking nuts for fun and also exercising their beaks which is for that purpose. They like breaking the nuts and opening them to eat what is inside. Natural supplements are also used as a way of feeding the parrotlets for proper growth. The parrotlets require a lot of energy for growth as compared to the already mature parrots. An food that has very high amount of sugar content should not be given to the parrots. Avoid also food with high-fat content as a feed for your parrotlets.

Every pet bird needs the attention of their owner. Parrotlets, however, can grow up with little attention as it is capable of amusing a playing with itself. Fully grown parrots require around ten minutes attention from the owner for training. Parrotlets will feel comfortable in a cage with toys and other playful material provided there is enough space for play. These birds do well by themselves, and so they don’t need company. They can only feel comfortable in the company of their owners and other parrots. Their houses should be made separate to that of other pets.

Although they are friendly birds they can cause harm to anything that causes disturbance to them. They should be separated from the other pets to avoid fights that can occur. Little kids should be kept far from them to avoid disturbing them and getting injured. However the birds are friendly depending on the kind of interaction one has with them.
